DOL 53 consists of an electrochemical diffusion sensor and electronics for signal processing.

DOL 53 functions like a ‘nose’. DOL 53 only transmits the concentration measured at the sensor. The unit of measurement ppm (parts per million) is a volume concentration.

DOL 53 is connected to a suitable evaluation unit via a four-wire cable. In normal operation, the measurement signal is between 0 V and 10 V.

DOL 53 is used for stationary, continuous monitoring of the ammonia concentration in the ambient air under atmospheric conditions.
